PRAGUE HALF MARATHON 2026
28 MARCH 2026
The Generali Prague Half Marathon is one of Europe’s most prestigious and fastest half marathons, part of the SuperHalfs series alongside Lisbon, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cardiff, and Valencia. Held annually in late March, it transforms the Czech capital into a festival of endurance and culture. The 2026 edition will welcome more than 16,000 runners from around the world, making it the largest half marathon in Central and Eastern Europe. Starting and finishing at Bubenské nábřeží near Holešovice Market, the course runs along the Vltava River, crossing four bridges and passing iconic landmarks such as the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and the Old Town Square. With its flat, fast route, cool spring weather, and live music at 15 points along the course, Prague offers both a chance at personal bests and a cultural journey through one of Europe’s most enchanting cities. Whether you’re chasing a record, running for charity, or simply embracing the atmosphere, the Prague Half Marathon delivers an unforgettable experience—where every stride echoes with history, resilience, and celebration.
The event’s motto is ‘ALL RUNNERS ARE BEAUTIFUL’ and that is reflected in the varied field of runners who take part every year. Local schoolchildren rub shoulders with the world’s fastest distance runners, who set records over the flat and fast course.
The Generali Prague Half Marathon was set up with one simple goal in mind – inspire the people of the Czech Republic to get active and become healthier and happier. Now almost 25 years later it has become one of Europe’s most popular half marathons.
The race takes place in a looped course of Prague with breathtaking views of Prague Castle along the way. Runners and spectators are treated to a party atmosphere, which keeps people from all over the world coming back year after year
Super Halfs Challenge
The Prague Half Marathon is part of the SuperHalfs series, along with 5 other cities: Valencia, Copenhagen, Cardiff, Lisbon, and Berlin. Now, you might be wondering: “what’s that?” This series brings together 6 European half marathons over a span of 60 months. The goal is simple: complete all these races. Everyone goes at their own pace, making it a great personal challenge
A fast race with minimal elevation
Though the city is known for its hilly terrain, worry not! The event organization is top-notch. It’s quite impressive to see that the course has minimal elevation gain considering Prague’s landscape. Cobbled sections and hills are kept to a minimum! So, no more excuses not to beat your personal best!
Explore a city full of history
During your stay, you’ll have the chance to explore many museums, exhibitions, and historical monuments. Thanks to the compact city center, you’ll get a real cultural tour. You can visit the Museum of Communism, the Jewish Museum, or even check out the latest exhibits at the National Museum of Prague.
Prague, the city for beer lovers
