COPEMHAGEN HALF MARATHON 2026
20 SEPTEMBER 2026
The Copenhagen Half Marathon is one of Europe’s fastest and most modern half marathons, part of the SuperHalfs series alongside Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Cardiff, and Valencia. Held annually in mid‑September, it has quickly become a global favorite for both elite athletes and recreational runners. The 2026 edition will welcome more than 25,000 participants from around the world, making it one of Scandinavia’s largest running events. Starting and finishing on Øster Allé near Fælledparken, the course runs through the heart of Copenhagen—passing landmarks such as The Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Palace, the Marble Church, and the Lakes. With its flat, record‑breaking route, cool autumn weather, and vibrant crowd support, Copenhagen offers both a chance at personal bests and a cultural journey through one of Europe’s most livable cities. Whether you’re chasing a world record, running for charity, or enjoying the Nordic atmosphere, the Copenhagen Half Marathon delivers an unforgettable experience – where every stride echoes with resilience, unity, and celebration.
PARTY, SPEED AND A GREAT ATMOSPHERE
These are some of the things that attract thousands of runners to the Copenhagen Half Marathon every year. And when the race starts in 2024, there will be even more of all three. CPH Half is ready with a new route where all participants have something to look forward to. Fast runners can test themselves on 21.1 flat kilometres with soft turns and many straight stretches. Those who come to experience one of Europe’s biggest running festivals can look forward to plenty of atmosphere and several of the capital’s iconic landmarks along the route.
The Copenhagen Half Marathon is one of the fastest races in Europe, a World Athletics Gold Label event, and part of the SuperHalfs series. The 2026 edition will take place on 14 September and is already officially sold out, with over 20,000 runners registered.
In 2026, the Copenhagen Half Marathon will also be part of the World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 26, featuring the World Championships in the half marathon, 5 km, and one‑mile distances. The World Championship half marathon will be held on Sunday, 20 September 2026, while the World Championships in the two shorter distances will take place on Saturday, 19 September. All entries for the half marathon distance were sold out through a lottery earlier this year, but it is still possible to register through our travel agency.
Explore Travel is one of the official Tour Operators for the SuperHalfs Series and the only travel agency from Romania accepted to represent SUPERHALFS and promote packages for all six races.
